庆应三年——幕末动乱时代。 由于将军德川庆喜的大政奉还，江户幕府濒临解体，幕府与讨幕派的对立日渐激化。近藤勇、土方岁三率领的新撰组，在经历油小路事件后遭受重创，即使如此仍然决定向庆喜效忠。 此时，皇帝向萨摩藩、长州藩下达了讨幕的密敕，并紧接着颁布了王政复古的大号令。朝廷宣告了德川幕府的终结。对此承诺的庆喜移居大阪，新撰组也再一次以并非“浪士集团”而是“幕臣”的身份备战，将屯所移至伏见奉行所。 新撰组队士·市村铁之助，怀着对从以前开始就关系亲密的少女·沙夜的思念，以副长·土方岁三小姓的身份，与身为队医的好友山崎烝、兄长辰之助一起，准备共同迎来身为新撰组一员的命运，但……。 期盼成为武士而前往京都的年轻人们，为了能够衣锦还乡而向着战斗突进。即使最终迎来的会是悲伤的别离……。。Gilbert Gonzalez (Adrian Martinez), feels isolated from the world.
