He is an up and coming skater with all the talent but has the world against him. Parents, friends and schoolmates can't understand how Derrick has so much passion for something that has no future in their eye...。小镇青年双喜为了追求理想，辞去县文化馆的工作，来到北京，在一家影楼打工谋生。他和女友小倩租住在胡同的一间平房里过着清贫而温馨的生活，一起为生存和理想而努力。然而现实让他不得不回到老家重新开始他以前抛弃过的生活……。
