若松监督が'71年夏、足立正生と、パレスチナの闘争を描く『赤军-ＰＦＬＰ 世界革命戦争宣言』を撮影したとき、现地で协力したのは重信だった。その後足立が日本赤军に参加し、若松监督は彼らに会うため毎年のようにレバノンのベイルートへ通い始める。 远山は、その映画『赤军-ＰＦＬＰ 世界革命戦争宣言』の上映运动のために、当时原宿のセントラル・アパートにあった若松プロに出入りしていた。 そういった彼女たちとの実际の関わりが、この映画制作に対する若松监督の大きなモチベーションになっている。登场人物同様、彼もまた「あの时代」を生きたのだ。重信と远山が登场するシーンは、若松监督のおなじみの场所、新宿ゴールデン街でも撮影された。。Meeting Jim is a feature length documentary about a journey back to the lifetime of Jim Haynes, an extraordinary 83-year-old man who grabbed with heart and soul the spirit of the 60s and continued to carry it throughout his life.
